Originally, Ryan’s crib was in front of the window, but it was too hard to reach the window to open it. I ended up moving the crib to the wall by the door. I wasn’t very excited about that because I thought he would be able to see down the hall into our room and it would be distracting for him. You know, because of all the action going on inside. Instead, I just keep his door open enough to be able to hear him if he cries or wakes up. It all worked out.
Once I moved it to the other wall, I needed to put something over the crib. I had been looking for something for a long time. I finally found a decal I liked through the company Uppercase Living. People tell you not to put anything over the crib that can fall and hurt them, that’s why I picked a decal. I didn’t want to do a mural because they are more expensive and if I get sick of it (which I eventually would) I would have to paint the whole wall all over again. Well, not me personally, but my handy dandy husband. I ordered it (about $30 — woohoo!) and waited patiently for its arrival. I was very excited when it was delivered, but then avoided it by putting it in his closet. I wasn’t very excited to figure out how to get it on the wall!
Yesterday, I finally decided to tackle the project of putting it on the wall. Mind you, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing when I started. I was really worried about getting it on straight. It took me about an hour, but here it is…oh, it looks crooked in the first pic, but it’s not.
Here’s Ryan enjoying the camera:

It was quite a tedious job because I had to make sure all the letters attached to the wall. If I went too fast, the letters would stick to the paper instead, and I could possibly ruin the entire thing. The tiny letters “for little boys” was the worst because they were so delicate. I was glad I was able to complete my project without messing it up! I can tell by the look on Ryan’s face that he loves it as much as I do! Ha, ha!
