I checked out the website and I think it's pretty much for kids under 1 year of age. That's crazy that women would want to do all that with an infant. Talk about a lot of work. I just don't see how you could go out and about with a baby - without a diaper. I'm still considering trying to teach Ryan. I just bought a huge box of diapers though :)

I go to mom and baby yoga and there is a mother in my class who has an 7 WEEK old little boy. She is doing "diaper free" or "elimination communication" (whatever you want to call it) which basically means she doesn't use diapers at all - ever - and reads her infants signals then holds him over a toilet or sink.

I found a website on it. This was totally new to me. They say there are some tools you can use to help with potty training. Maybe there is something useful here:)

Yes, I'm sure Sophia could potty train easily now at her age. It really is just like you said, we - as moms - need to get serious and focused before the child will be successful. That's why I want to make sure I'm personally ready to commit myself to training him, otherwise it won't work and will take forever, which is what I don't want. And just like your ped said, she is young and not to worry. I know Ryan is young, but it would still be nice to have him out of diapers :) Thanks for your input! Everything helps!

Wow! Your first son is amazing! He did everything on his own for the most part. That would be fabulous if Ryan could do that too, but that's pretty impressive. Your second son sounds more common though :)

Sophia is 26 months and we bought a potty for her about6 months ago. She has gone potty in it randomly but we have not gotten serious and focused about it yet. Her pediatrician stated she is still young and not to worry. We are planning on having her ptrained by mid summer. We want to start preschool so p training is a must. I heard about getting it done in a weekend but I'm not too sold on that. Good luck. If I run into any other news I will let you know!

Both my older two boys were completely potty trained by 2 1/2. I can't take any credit with the first one. I asked him if he wanted to pick out some underwear..we did and he put them on after I washed them. He had two accidents and that was it! But that's his personality. With my second it took quite a few weeks, lots of mistakes, candy for treats but he got it too. I made sure they both could tell me they had to go, took them every hour in the beginning, and once we put on underwear they never went back to diapers as an option. The thing for me is that I'm sure you can train kids when they are young bt it will require alot of work on your part. You know reminding them and being on top of them all the time. When they are older they actually understand what they are doing and why. Once they get it they do..a few reminders now and then to go before leaving the house but they get it. That's my two cents! Good luck!
