A few weeks ago I had the urge to try knitting. I had some left over yarn from Ryan’s blanket, that I crocheted, so all I had to do was buy some knitting needles and then I was ready to start my lesson.
I browsed through my knitting book I bought when I was deciding to knit or crochet, but that didn’t help me 100%. I’m a visual person so I headed on over to YouTube for some knitting videos, since I needed some extra help.
I decided to practice the basic knit stitch. Things were going so well, I ended up with a scarf! White wouldn’t have been my first choice in colors, but I didn’t want it to go to waste.
I wasn’t very excited about the color and one part towards the end was a tad wider than the rest, so I didn’t think I’d ever actually wear the scarf. I didn’t even put the fringe on it for a few weeks! I also thought about putting some flowers on it, but I don’t know that I ever will.
I must say knitting is very relaxing to me though. When I crochet, I think I tend to have a tight grip and sometimes it makes me tense.
But don’t get excited knitters!!! Even though I thought that knitting was relaxing, I feel that I’m truly a crocheter. I couldn’t wait to get back to learning some new crochet patterns and stitches!
Up next I’ll have a couple scarves I crocheted for my hubby and my friend!
